So I took a look at Google Maps' latest feature called My Location. Works OK on some device. I wouldn't say it's as good as Navizon, but it's not too bad for a start. What intrigued me however is the...

Oh dooh, thanks for the heads up. I might just hang in there until A) Rockbox port is done or B) The second generation iPod touch comes out.

Either way I'll probably be waiting quite a while.

Sorry I just now realized you left a comment. Thanks for the compliment. After using the updated software for a while now I've come to the conclusion that it's complete crap and the wireless sync is broken at best (900+ songs duplicated every time). I'm going to try wiping out the new zune library and starting from scratch to see if that helps.

If it's any consolation on the "OFF" thing, to turn the zune off you have to hold the back and down buttons together for several seconds. M$ doesn't even bother to tell you that, I had to find it on the interwebs after my battery kept dying so quick.

First of all, love the new layout.

Second, the zune looks good. I got a Toshiba Gigabeat (read: precursor to the Zune), and I've about given up on it.

Toshiba basically stopped supporting it after they released it. I think Toshiba manufactures the Zune too. Anyway, there hasn't been a single firmware update, and the worst thing is that even when it's off, the battery slowly drains.

I think it's the MS Portable Media center OS...the device has an insanely hard to use switch on the bottom that apparently really turns it off, rather than it just being in standby, but it's not usable unless I superglue something to it.

It's one of those pin hole size sliders...

Anyway, the device is great, the interface is great, but OMG, the power drain kills me and makes this thing almost unusable. I can fully charge it, play it for 5 mins on Friday, and by Monday (it's been off all weekend), it's dead again.

I've been patiently awaiting a Rockbox port for this device, but I'm not sure it'll ever happen. I may have to give up and get something else...I doubt it'll be a Zune unless the Zune doesn't drain like this does.

When I hit the off button, I want it OFF...

Anyway, the Zune is slick, and not much different from the Gigabeat S series aside from the Wifi...oh, and the fact that the company actually supports it after they release it.
