I’ve been counting down to the opening day of snowboarding since there were over 100 days left and this morning I got an early birthday present. I checked the webcam at Cataloochee, the closest mountain to me, and it turns out temperatures allowed them to start blowing snow yesterday afternoon and they opened today. So they were able to open 16 days early! Granted it’s a very small base and only the bunny slope is open, but still I can’t wait to get up there this weekend and try out my new board!
